Shondra Dewing - Principal Director
Shondra started her dance training at the age of 4 with the Shelley Wright dancers and then went on to study classical ballet with Sheila Laing. In 1987, Shondra auditioned for and became a member of the Australian drill team where she performed for the bi-centennial parade, the Australian formula one opening and the mayor's ball in 1988. Also in that year, the Australian drill team travelled to Nagoya, Japan for international competition, where the team went on to win and retain it's world championship title. In 1990, Shondra travelled with the team and performed at the Edinburgh military tattoo, a highlight of her career. Shondra has also performed as a cheerleader with the Adelaide 36ers. Shondra has a passion for dance and her professional opportunities have given her a wealth of experience and knowledge to pass on to her students.
Krysten Sutton - Ballet Teacher
Krysten studied Classical Ballet with Sheila Laing in Adelaide, where she gained her Royal Academy of Dance, Solo Seal. In 1984, Krysten travelled to London where she was a finalist in the Adeline Genee Awards. She also attended the Central School of Ballet in London. Krysten is a qualified Royal Academy of Dance Teacher and continues to update her knowledge and skills by participating in development courses and student and teacher workshops. Her passion is to in still an enjoyment and love of ballet to others. Krysten has been committed to Dance Xplosion and it's students for 17 years and is a loved and valuable member of our team
Kelly Murphy - Senior Teacher READY SET DANCE
Kelly began her dancing career with Jayne at the age of 5. Her love and passion for dance has allowed her to compete in local competitions in troupes, solo's and duo's. Kelly is currently studying modern jazz, tap dancing, hip hop and classical ballet whilst also undertaking exams in modern jazz, tap and classical ballet. Kelly has completed up to grade 8 in RAD classical ballet exams, up to and including grade 6 in modern jazz exams and is currently studying her tap exams. Miss Kelly's gentle and caring nature and patient demeanor allow her to work cooperatively & successfully with students of all ages and is also a registered nurse. Kelly hopes to continue to show her passion for dance by inspiring others to fulfill their potential.
Gina Nott - Senior Teacher Hip Hop
Miss Gina has just started at Dance Xplosion as our Hip Hop teacher.
Gina started dancing at the age of 5. She has always had a passion for dance and commitment to the performing arts.
Gina has trained with Terry Simpson in Contemporary, Jazz, Tap and Ballet for 9 years.
Gina is currently training at the Australian Company of Performing Arts.

Rebecca Martin - Senior Teacher Contemporary/Acro
Rebecca has always had a passion for dance. She started dancing at Dance Xplosion at age of 3 in 2005. She has competed in many competitions in solo and troupe work. Rebecca has completed her RAD classical ballet exams up to and including grade 7 and is currently working on her Intermediate Classical exam. Rebecca has a Cert IV in Dance and is always looking to further her dance knowledge and skills. She loves working with young children and wishes to share her knowledge and love for the arts.
Tanayah McLay - Senior Teacher
Tanayah has been dancing at Dance Xplosion for 15 years starting at the age of 3 years. She has studied all genres over this time, but she is focusing on her classical ballet, modern jazz and tap-dancing classes and exams to finalise her training as a qualified teacher. Tanayah is a very accomplished and successful student participating and winning tap-dancing championships, classical scholarships and adjudicators awards. Tanayah is committed to furthering her knowledge and skills by attending many school holiday workshops and programmes both here in South Australia and interstate. Miss Tanayah has found a passion for Lyrical and now successfully teachers Jazz, Tap and Lyrical. We love having Miss Tanayah as a part of our teaching team.
Hayley Paterson - Junior Teacher
Hayley started dancing when she was 4 years old and this year will be her 11th year at Dance Xplosion and her 1st year as a student teacher. She started with modern jazz and over the years has extended her classes to modern jazz, tap dancing , classical ballet, cheerleading, contemporary as well as solos, duos & exams. Hayley loves coming to dance for every lesson no matter how bad her day has been as once she gets to the studio with some of her best friends, she will be working hard, smiling and having a great time. Hayley hopes to one day have a career in dancing and she's so excited to start that journey as a part of the Dance Xplosion team
